Focusing on interdisciplinary creations, the second-generation choreographer Wu Tsai-lin has been exploring cross-domain directions since her 2021 work *Cœur en Scène*, which combined ink wash and live music to examine the relationship between female emotions and the body. Her 2023 work, *Flora's Spokesperson*, further explored the bond between plants and humans through floral art and interactive video technology.
In 2025, she seeks a brand-new medium by integrating "weaving installations" with dance. This work reflects the modern social phenomenon of alienation caused by technological convenience, aiming to share the joy of the creative process and the completion of a collective work through the act of weaving.
❖ Quipu: The Continuation of Life
Tai Gu Tales Dance Theatre consistently supports the creations of young choreographers. During her exploration of weaving, Wu discovered that in the pre-literate era, ancient civilizations used "quipu" (knot records) to transmit experience and wisdom. Understanding that life's mission lies in continuation, wisdom, and strength, they wove natural materials into shoes, clothing, mats, and vessels—weaving the very history of human survival.
❖ Weaving Together to Break Digital Alienation
In modern society, where many craftsmen and materials have been replaced by machines, people often lack appreciation for things easily obtained. Beyond rich visuals and stunning dance, the core design allows the audience to participate in the weaving process alongside the dancers. In an era where the internet often isolates us, we hope this theatrical environment creates a beautiful memory of people joining hands to achieve something together.
