Contemporary Legend Theatre ✕ Western Regions Tragedy "Loulan Nu"
A bloody revenge of ultimate love and hate! Western Regions sorcery, betrayal, and a soul-shaking finale of destiny.
The story begins years later with a family wandering in Dunhuang. Jiesheng, seeking to climb the ladder of power, intends to marry the daughter of the Governor of Dunhuang. To this end, he heartlessly leaves his wife and children to live in exile. Upon Medea's bitter pleading, the Governor reluctantly allows her to stay in the city for one more day.
"While Medea is in the depths of despair, the King of Dayuezhi visits, troubled by his lack of heirs. Medea decides to seize the opportunity, offering the national treasure of Loulan—the Golden Branch and Leaves—in exchange for the King's promise of eternal protection..."
Subsequently, under the guise of sending a wedding gift, Medea convinces Jiesheng to petition the Governor to let the children stay in Dunhuang to avoid the hardships of exile. Suspecting nothing, Jiesheng lets his own children deliver a poisoned robe and crown to the Governor's daughter.
The princess joyfully puts on the robe and crown, only to be struck by the poison instantly. The Governor, unable to bear his daughter's agony, embraces her in tears, only to be tainted by the poison and fall dead beside her.
❖ Finale ── Eternal Regret
Miranda (Medea), Princess of Loulan, resentful of the cruel betrayal of love, not only poisons the Governor and his daughter but also, to deal the most painful blow to Jiesheng’s soul, heartlessly stabs her two beloved children to death!
Having completed her revenge, she coldly uses mysterious sorcery to escape through the air, vanishing without a trace into the desert sands, leaving Jiesheng to hold the cold bodies, falling into a lifetime of isolation and regret.
